Taylor Swift's request to be in 'Twilight: New Moon' was rejected by director.

 As a culture, we need a minute to mourn Taylor Swift's potential cameo in an incredible new film. Although she has made appearances on shows like CSI and New Girl and in movies like the star-studded Valentine's Day from 2010, the pop queen could have made an even bigger impact on the cultural canon of the 2000s by making an appearance in the film Twilight.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, is the second of five films based on the best-selling books. Director Chris Weitz has claimed that Taylor Swift was almost cast in the film. He discussed why he ultimately said no to working with Taylor and her agency in a recent appearance on Ashley Greene's The Twilight Effect podcast.

The director of Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 has said that he wishes he had cast Taylor Swift Chris Weitz mentioned Swift's request to be an extra in the British Columbia-filmed New Moon in an episode of The Twilight Effect podcast.

"Taylor would like to be in this movie — not because of you, but she's a Twi-hard," Weitz recalls Swift's agency telling him. The singer was game for a cameo, but director Weitz thought she'd be too distracting if she popped up in the backdrop of one of his scenes. "The hardest part for me was to be like, the moment that Taylor Swift goes onto the screen, for about five minutes, nobody is going to be able to digest anything," he said.

She probably wondered, "Who is this jerk?" But there are moments when you have to make choices in the name of the film's overall success. Weitz revealed a more introspective motivation for his remorse. "I also feel guilty because I remember thinking, 'Wow, I could have been hanging out with Taylor Swift. '""I also feel guilty because, wow, I could have been hanging out with Taylor Swift," she said.

'She must have been thinking, 'Who is this jerk?'" he continued. However, there are moments when you have to make choices in what you believe is the film's best interest. The second instalment of the Twilight film series, "Twilight: New Moon," is the sequel to the first. Critics were harsh, yet it's highly valued among series devotees. Weitz's directing of this picture was his sole contribution to the series. For the sequel Eclipse, David Slade served as the film's director.

Singer Taylor Swift will join Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, and John David Washington in the upcoming film Amsterdam. Chris Weitz, director of "Twilight: New Moon," has stated that he wishes he had included Taylor Swift in the series. The director revealed that Swift had asked to be an extra in the 2009 picture during an interview on the Twilight Effect podcast hosted by Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen.

Weitz remarked, "Taylor Swift would like to be in this movie — not because of you, but she's a Twi-hard." Weitz and Swift shared an agent at the time. Weitz felt Swift's presence in the picture would be too distracting, despite the fact that Swift just wanted to appear as "someone at the cafeteria, or the diner, or whatever."
